Now, Tom is reminded of EXACTLY why he was so desperate to wait for his old friends to return before setting sail on the raft.
What we know about this situation:
1. The kids seem to have more sense than the grownups.
2. The briefcase survived the fire. (Also survives the odd nuclear blast.)
3. Even if Tom had launched the raft, it would have ended up circling the islands (due to “currents”).
4. The only way to reunite Todd with his two-headed taped-together dad now, is if he can sit side saddle on a log.
