Wait until we learn the kitty is actually the briefcase in a cat suit.
I keep thinking the kitty is going to suddenly get Xs on its eyes and then turn into a skeleton (while Tom’s holding it, of course!) – but your idea is better.
Or a really tiny kitty will insert itself into Tom’s kitty and turn it into a raging predator.
