Scotty was barking up the wrong tree?
Scotty is finding out that life has many layers.
Now there will be even more bark and more peeled logs. I’m still waiting to find out what the purpose of all this peeling is.
A bark is a bark is a bark.
It’s possible they’ve all been put on the island by some Higher Power that has an insatiable desire for peeled logs. Or heaps of bark. Or both.
So they’ll always be stranded there, dying and reincarnating, as the logs and bark pile up.
Could be an answer to the question of theodicy: it’s all about the bark. Or the logs. Or both.
