The three main ways of working in Japan are: 1) To be in a U.S. company with a Japanese branch and work like hell to get dispatched there (difficult because most companies prefer having local management rather than paying the higher wages for an ex-pat). 2) Have a Japanese spouse and work under a spouse visa. 3) Get a degree in a field that Japan is weak in, and then find a company willing to sponsor your working visa (being from India and majoring in computer science is a good combination). Option 4) Be Canadian, Australian or New Zealandish and go to Japan under a working holiday visa (available only to people tied to England and good for up to 1.5 years). Option 5) Come to Japan as a tourist and attempt to overstay your visa.
