Still, I’ve often wondered: is the goal to achieve peeled logs or a pile of peeled bark? Or maybe both?
Or does log peeling take Tom’s mind off the thought of just killing them all?

To Rosemary, anything someone does that does not get her food, attention, or anything else she demands is “wasting time”. Good thing I’ve never known anyone like that!
