True story/non sequitur: I was a DJ on a campus radio station in 1967. The rep brought us the week’s new 45s. We listened to Light My Fire (the truncated version) and flip side The Crystal Ship. We decided to play the ship. All that guitar tinkling and organ tweedling on the album cut made a real difference.
